Weld One

The DHC 2000 (formerly HENROB 2000™) uses a neutral flame for most welding applications except stainless steel and hard facing of machinery blades where a carburising flame is used. (See Image 1, 2 & 3)

The low velocity flame with very little oxygen content protects the weld puddle in a similar way as a TIG/MIG machine, and therefore requires no flux on the majority of materials.

Aluminum requires a small amount of flux only on the rod as the gas shield of the torch has a deoxidizing effect on the weld. However unlike a TIG where the work piece must be extremely clean around the weld area (usually achieved with a stainless wire brush) the DHC 2000 (formerly HENROB 2000™) requires little or no cleanup.

The torch has a long nozzle in comparison to TIG which enables it to reach into very hard to get at positions. It is very light and portable and is easily able to be used outside in windy conditions which makes it ideal for on-site work.

Undercuts

It is particular interest to note that DHC 2000 (formerly HENROB 2000™) produces no undercut along the weld seam as in the TIG/MIG process and therefore repair of a motor block, injection moulding etc, does not require machining on the plane side. This machining can be far more expensive that the actual welding.

Cutting and Brazing

All plate and sheet metal can be brazed without flux. Galvanised sheet metal can be cut and brazed without flux and without destroying the protective coating (essential in auto body repair work for applications where it is not possible to remove the flux residue), because of the non- oxydizing flame even ordinary domestic copper wire can used as filler. For brazing (see image 4)

There are two cutting attachments, one for sheet metal and one for plate. The torch produces a very narrow non-oxydized slag free clean cut up to 25MM and no machining is required before welding it. It is very fast and energy efficient giving huge gas savings compared to a conventional oxy cutter uses approx. half the gas. See image 5
